The survey the Sharia Compliance Index of Zakat Management Organizations (IKSOPZ) measurement involves 352 scattered zakat management organizations (OPZs) in 32 provinces in Indonesia.
Respondents from BAZNAS district and city levels being the most respondents, namely 277 OPZ. Then, the respondents from the provincial level BAZNAS as much as 29 OPZ. Furthermore, OPZ respondents from the National level Amil Zakat Institution (LAZ) totalling 12 OPZs. Next, OPZ from LAZ at the provincial level as many as 10 OPZ and OPZ respondents from LAZ level Districts and Cities as many as 23 OPZs.
Apart from being presented at the national level, the survey results are also presented in the regional level according to the research area. This publication presents the results of the 2020 IKSOPZ survey in the Sumatra region. In general, the Index value OPZ Sharia compliance in the Sumatra region in 2020 gets a value 0.59 or it is categorized as quite good with a rating of B.
These results are slightly higher than the sharia compliance index score at the level national, which is 0.58. In the context of the Sumatra regional IKSOPZ Dimension, the value of the sharia compliance index in the management of zakat management, get a score of 0.50 in the sufficient category good and rank B.
Then on the dimension of collecting zakat get a score of 0.59 which is included in the quite good category with rank B. the dimensions of zakat distribution get a score of 0.66 or fall into the good category with rank A, and at the national level, zakat regulation dimension gets the score of 0.75 in good category and rank A.
The Province of Nanggroe Aceh Darussalam received the highest IKSOPZ score and the Province North Sumatra received the lowest score in the Sumatra region. Furthermore, in the Sumatra region, there are 5 provinces that have the IKSOPZ index value equal to or above the IKSOPZ index average value in the Sumatra region, while 5 other provinces scored IKSOPZ below the Sumatra regional average.
