Here is the resolution of the world zakat forum (WZF) international conference 2020.
- Calling all WZF members to strengthen their collaboration with the government and other strategic stakeholders to mitigate the socio-economic impact of the COVID-19 pandemic through optimization of zakat instrument.
- Calling all WZF members to optimize the digital platform and recent technology in conducting the promotion, calculation, collection, and distribution of zakat funds in respective member countries.
- Urging all member countries to re-focusing the zakat distribution program to restore the economy of the respective community which was affected by the COVID-19 pandemic.
- The WZF Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General will set up the action plan to realize the related resolution in managing the severe impacts of COVID19 for global mustahiks through the proper zakat distribution and empowerment.
- Considering the development of the COVID-19 vaccine around the globe, all member countries are encouraged to support the respective government to implement halal COVID-19 vaccine program to eliminate the COVID-19 pandemic.
- Regarding the waqf sector proposal to integrate waqf institutions to become WZF members, the Forum agrees to include waqf institutions to become WZF members started effectively in the year 2021. The World Zakat Forum may be extended to become the World Zakat and Waqf Forum.
- Acknowledging the importance of the role of youth as the future of global zakat movement, the Forum agrees to approve the establishment of the WZF Youth as a subsidiary institution of the Forum.
- Considering the urgency to increase quantity and quality of research that provides a proper direction of global zakat movement, the Forum also agrees to approve the establishment of the WZF Research and Development as a subsidiary institution of the Forum.
